Every morning in Africa, an antelope wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion, or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest antelope, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or an antelope -- when the sun comes up, you'd better be running. -African proverb

Karma & Kindness

If you read my last post (which hopefully you did), then you saw my mention of Karma & Kindness.  These are my 2 new pups.  Just kidding!  This is my new angle.  I've noticed that lots of running blogs have an additional angle.  Some talk about running and fashion.  Some discuss running and celebrities.  Some blog about running and food.  You get the point.  I've been trying to find an angle to go with my running blog also.  Last month, my husband (Hi Dave!) and I brainstormed a few different ideas: running and reading, running and research about running, running and doing good.  I think this last one might be it.  Random Acts of Kindness is a popular headline these days.  Ellen DeGeneres has a kindness segment.  There is also the Sandy Hook 26 Acts of Kindness project.  I have always liked the pay it forward idea, so I'm going to make an official commitment.  Putting it in writing (public writing, nonetheless) will hopefully hold me accountable.  My goal is to contribute in a kind way at least once a month.  Sooo... I was thinking that I could start running more charity races.  Or start donating to friends who are running for charities.  Or maybe just do some PSA-type posts.  I'm open to ideas.  Let me hear them.  Or better yet, join me!  The more kindness, the better.

Look what I found!  The timing couldn't be more perfect!

Why just a week, though?
Think bigger.

Here's to a lifetime of kindness!
